Decided to start on a small series of drawings based on collages i put together from fashion magazines. The series is called "You are what we've made you." and is based on the idea that we are very much influenced by media pressures, here are a just a couple.

Beautiful beautiful song, someone was playing it today at uni and i actually searched them out to find out who this was.

Observations

Fashion works as both a window to your identity and a closed door.

People use fashion to either 1. Express who they are OR 2.Hide who they are.

I've just started my final major project based on the idea of breaking free, linking to identity and a pathway to self-discovery. The drawings are direct contour, donw without looking at the page and then adding coloured pencil after.

I also did a load of portraits i haven't come round to photographing yet.

Catching up

I've been set the impossible task of completing 50 self-portraits by thursday...it's not possible. Im demotivated and running low on watercolour (again) so decided to do a pencil drawing which takes twice as long...so taking a little break.

Reading: The Jewel of St Petersburg (been on the second chapter since christmas so im not sure it counts)

Listening: to "Brothers" The Black keys Albumn

Drinking: tea :)

Wanting: some inspiration, which may come in the form of going to London some point soon

Loving: Xaver Messerschmidt, amazing sculptures
